Raptor Central

Wallaga Lake is usually a reliable place for viewing raptors.  Today I was not disappointed – two Grey Goshawk perched in a Banksia, two Whistling Kite on the beach and then flying over, a White-bellied Sea-Eagle, and just as I was leaving a Swamp Harrier.

This week there were also four Whimbrel, some Red-capped Plover and Pied Oyster-catcher, and in Bermagui itself ( a little out of our area but still of interest) were 16 Hardhead.

At our Field meeting last year, we had wonderful views of a Square-tailed Kite, and I have also seen Black-shouldered Kite and Brown Falcon perched beside the lake.
