Do you recognise this bird?

Adrienne and Ian Grant sent in a photo of the remains of a dead bird found at Currowan.  The colour of the underside of the wing was not familiar to them or to me.  I sent it off to Mike Crowley who identified it as a Satin Bowerbird (female), probably just after a moult as the yellow in the wing is very bright.  It is interesting to me how we can learn something new from looking at a dead bird.  I had not seen the bright yellow colouring in the wing of a Satin Bowerbird in flight before but I will look more closely next time.
